Marriage Intensives
Focused time.
Deeper work.
A different way forward.
Sometimes an hour a week just isn't enough.Marriage Intensives at the Self-Leadership Center of Oklahoma give couples more time and space to slow things down, understand what is happening in their relationship, and work on the patterns that keep getting in the way.Instead of trying to fit everything into a weekly therapy hour, an intensive gives us uninterrupted time to get underneath the conflict, understand the hurts and reactions that each person brings into the relationship, and begin working toward real change. An Integrative ApproachOur marriage intensives draw from three approaches that work well together:The Gottman Method gives couples practical, research-based tools for understanding conflict, communication, friendship, intimacy, and repair.Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps each person better understand the parts of themselves that show up in the relationship—especially the parts that feel hurt, afraid, protective, or overwhelmed. Rather than focusing on Who's the problem?, we can begin asking, What's happening inside each of us, and what's happening between us?Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) brings IFS into couples therapy. It helps partners recognize their cycle, communicate what is underneath their reactions, work through relational injuries, and build greater emotional connection. The goal isn't simply to help couples argue better. It's to understand the relationship deeply enough that something different becomes possible.Choose the Level of Support That Fits Your RelationshipIntensiveClinical TimeOne TherapistTwo TherapistsHalf-Day3.5 hours$850$1,250Full-Day6 hours$1,500$2,200Two-Day12 hours$2,800$4,000Three-Day18 hours$3,900$5,500One-Therapist Intensives are offered with Brandt, Tiffany, or Duncan based on availability, clinical needs, and fit.Two-Therapist Intensives are facilitated by Brandt and Tiffany together. Having two therapists allows for additional perspective and support, particularly when couples are working through more complicated or longstanding relationship concerns.Which Intensive Is Right for Us?Half-Day — Focus & ResetA good fit for couples who want focused time around a specific concern, such as communication, recurring conflict, boundaries, intimacy, parenting, or reconnecting after a difficult season.Full-Day — Relationship IntensiveA full day gives us more room to understand the relationship as a whole. We'll look at patterns of conflict, the emotions underneath those patterns, protective responses, communication, and opportunities for repair.Two-Day — Repair & ReconnectionWe often recommend this format for couples dealing with longstanding conflict, significant disconnection, betrayal, relational injuries, or patterns that seem impossible to break. The additional time allows us to move beyond simply identifying the problem and spend more time doing the deeper work of understanding, processing, and repairing.Three-Day — Relationship RestorationThis is our most comprehensive intensive. It is designed for couples who need more time to understand their history, identify the patterns that have developed over time, work through deeper wounds, practice new ways of relating, and develop a plan for moving forward. What to ExpectBefore a full-day or multi-day intensive, we'll spend time getting to know your relationship and understanding what brings you in. This includes a pre-intensive assessment and relationship history so that the intensive can be tailored to your needs.During the intensive, your time may include:Gottman-, IFS-, and IFIO-informed therapeutic workUnderstanding your relationship cycle and patternsExploring the emotions and protective responses underneath conflictWorking through relational injuries and disconnectionPracticing new ways of communicating and responding to one anotherIdentifying practical ways to continue the work at homeYou'll also receive resources to help you continue what you've started, along with a follow-up session to help you process and integrate the work after the intensive.A Different Kind of Space for Your MarriageMarriage Intensives aren't about deciding who is right and who is wrong. They're about slowing down enough to understand how two people who love—or once loved—each other became caught in a painful pattern.Sometimes couples have been having the same fight for years. Sometimes they've stopped fighting altogether and simply feel disconnected. Sometimes there's been a betrayal or another significant injury that has changed the relationship.Whatever brings you in, the intensive creates space to stop reacting long enough to understand what's really happening—and to begin finding a different way forward.Self-Leadership Center of OklahomaOklahoma City, OklahomaMarriage Intensives are scheduled following an initial consultation to determine appropriateness, goals, and the recommended length and therapist configuration.
